Manual Transfer Windows Live Mail Data to New Computer

  1. Create New folder on old PC so that Live Mail can easily move your mail on the desired location. For example, in order to make a new void folder on the desktop, press Ctrl+E to access File Explorer & click on Desktop present under the favourites heading, click Home tab and select New Folder.
  2. Open Live Mail application, go to File menu, and choose Export email and press the Email Messages.
  3. Select Microsoft Windows Live Mail as a file format, click Next, then Browse and choose the desktop folder you have created earlier.
  4. Click Next button, choose all the entire necessary folder to export and again click on Next to start the procedure of file export. Click done once export procedure completes.
  5. Connect external storage drive to your PC. Open File Explorer << drag and drop the exported mail file folder from the desktop onto the USB or any other external storage drive. And once you copied the files, then remove the device and connect the USB drive in your new computer
  6. Install WLM on your new system, click File and choose Import Messages
  7. Choose Windows Live Mail option among multiple file formats, click Next, then Browse and choose the folder on USB storage drive containing exported mail files
  8. Click Next and then click on Finish to terminate the process to migrate Windows Live Mail to New PC
